How to Survive the Holidays while Still Looking Fly as F***

Don’t let stress, calories, or a lack of sleep steal your party-fabulous look this season.

In fact, the holidays—a time when you want to be looking your party best—can be a potential minefield of beauty hazards. Here are some unfortunate things that might steal your radiance this season, and what you can do to stop them. Let’s begin!

Weight gain

The holidays can seem like an endless parade of cookies, pies, special drinks, and traditional desserts. But a few smart moves can help you avoid holiday weight gain.

For example, choose hot cocoa over creamy eggnog. Watch out for finger foods at parties, have a light breakfast and lunch so you can enjoy all the holiday fare at dinner, and aim to fit in some exercise each day, even if it’s just a brisk walk around the block. A little cardio goes a long way!

Stressed out skin

Stress can lead to skin issues like acne and psoriasis flares, as well as hair loss. Just as hair color fades in the winter, so does your complexion. Chilly conditions cause dry skin, and that sun-kissed glow has long since left your face. Book an appointment at your favorite spa. Mine is Skincare by Pevonia.

If you find yourself busy and can’t make it in for a treatment, head home and give your winter skin a wake-up by using a daily exfoliator to slough off dead skin cells. I also like to invest in an age-defying color corrector from Pevonia . It helps fade hyperpigmentation. g Pevonia’s Micro Retinol line for almost two years and i absolutely love it.

Sore feet

Even if you’re mostly an Internet shopper (I am), it’s hard to avoid spending lots of time on your feet during the holiday season. Whether you’re shopping or party-going, wearing the wrong shoes can cause painful swelling, blisters, and calluses.

Relax sore muscles by giving yourself a reflexology massage.  Still need relief? Think about enhancing your foot massage with an exfoliating foot mask. Just trust us on this one.

Tired eyes and dark circles

There’s nothing worse than a dark shadow under your eyes to ruin a good ol’ selfie. Combat tired-looking skin and dark circles by ensuring you get enough sleep. If you can’t get ready for bed before the clock strikes 12, consider a skin-reviving or brightening face mask. I love these from Karuna available at Sephora.
